Back... to more trouble?

Finally back after such a long break from the blogging scene. I feel so horribly tired due to late nite activitives. If there was just a holiday in the midst of all this school thingy.
I am now currently doing the book of proverbs. It is basically a book of wisdom that can apply to our everyday life. This book of the Bible is a true masterpiece(not saying that the others are not) by the God-gifted Solomon. As I go into this particular book, I begin to understand more and more of God through the wise sayings.
These days has been tough. After weeks and weeks of listening to sermons and attending church and making promises and commitments to God, I still have much difficulty being a "Jesus Generation" youth(if not adult) in my school. Truly, the world is not where i belong but yet I still hold on to it so much. It is a daily struggle that has drain me not only spiritually but also mentally. To all of you that are struggling. It is a good sign that you are struggling. Some christians sin without even struggling or reflecting. Continue to grow and be teachable and never let your fire burn out. Let us move to a better day with God hand in hand, towards eternity!

The snail that maked it to the Ark

Ever wondered why are there snails here on the earth? If you have read through Genesis, you will see that God ordered Noah to go and build an ark. In it he was to bring every type of animal, one male and one female. As all of you know, snails are very slow animals. how then did it go on to the ark? The answer is simple. It is endurance. Many of us we lack endurance. We do not have the determination to pray non-stop for a non-believer for a few year.

Does the bible talk about endurance? It does. In James Chapter 1 verses 2 and 3:Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. What then does this mean? It means that faith preserved and practised in trials leads on to victory and deeper joy! Let us all have this perseverace to stand firm to the influences by the world with faith that God will deliver. But doing this we will have victory BECAUSE OF the trials nad it brings not only joy to us, but to the Heavenly Father!

Who are you: A listener or a Doer?

The book of James states that if we are merely hearers and not doers of the Word, we are deluding or deceiving ourselves as he exhorts us in James 1:22.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." James 1:22

Many of us go to Church Sunday after Sunday, from Christian meetings to seminars to conferences and camps, but they end up not doing the Word. Charles Finney once said that bible teaching without moral application could be worse than no teaching at all and this could result in injury to the hearers. It may seem that this was an extreme position but I have come to realise that it is a very true and realistic position. In Luke 6:46-49, Jesus spoke about the wise man who was laying a deep and lasting foundation, and when the flood and storm came, the house did not fall. He likened such a man as one who hears His Word and does them – it is the one who obeys whatever Jesus says. In a similar passage in Matthew 7:24-27, it is said that the winds blew and beat on the house and Luke accounts it as the stream beating vehemently against the house. Looking at these two accounts, we can see an intense pressure coming upon the house but yet it could stand. Such is the importance of being a doer of the Word. It ensures that we will be able to withstand the intense storms and beatings of life that come crashing down on us.

So what if we know the whole bible? Without applying the truths in it, the bible just becomes like another piece of information that is in your head. The storms of life and the pressures of the world are truely real and the only way we can stand steadfast and not stumble is not by just only knowing the Scriptures but to obey everything that is said. Many Christians have backslided and fall, and many have been unable to withstand the storms, vehemently and mercilessly beating against them, because they have not truly walked a life of obedience to the Word of God!

How then do we be a doer? The key here once is obedience. We got to obey God and be near to
Him. But remember people, do not let the reading the obeying of the word evolve into legalism. In other words, focus on the essence, not on the letter of the law, and also read it in context.

Our Generation

There's a possibility this could happen again," the old man said, smiling genially. "Because in a war, you have to win."
http://www.aiipowmia.com/731/731mnu.html

When I first read about Iris Chang committing suicide, I though that whatever she claimed about the Japanese atrocities were just a severe case of depression. Never did I though that God would bring me to the topic.
From young, I have always been interested in unconventional weapons, especially in the area of chemical and biological weapons. The reason is that these weapons kill quietly and that buildings and other useful structures would not be destroyed. I have spent nights in fear that all this horror and terror will happen once again. And they will happen soon.
In Matthew 24 and in Revelations 7, in the scrolls, there is always the word plague and epidemics. These epidemics can be man created, as in like a terrorist decides to blow up a biological bomb and then there goes a nation.
What can we gather from all these valuable lessons? Firstly, spiritual darkness is something that is not trivial and not to be trifled. Look at the nationalists in Japan and their policy of self sufficient that led to one of Humanity’s darkest period. Look at Hitler. An unknown guy during World War I; A mere corporal. Yet in a matter of years, he rose up to the top of the German political scene. What caused all these? Hatred, loneliness, rejection, and many other things. If this is to be the chosen generation, we must certainly pray hard that there would not be a Hitler or Stalin in the making. Secondly, there is a need to win souls for the Lord Jesus Christ. If this is the last minute of the last hour, everyone must see the vision that the Lord desires none to perish, but all to be saved. Salvation is indeed important, but follow up is something that is being neglected! It would be a great misfortune if we neglect and miss the point of follow up, one of the important aspects of the Christian faith. Thirdly, we need to claim the promise in 2 Chronicles 7:16" And my people who are called by MY name humble themselves and pray and seek MY face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heavens, will forgive their sin and will heal their Land." Many of us hold the mind set that prayer for the land is only "restricted" to the leaders.. We, and the we refers to everyone, even the children, needs to give up on ourselves and to humble ourselves to our knees and pray and cry for our land. Fourthly, Mentoring. None of us were ever made perfect. We all have our weaknesses. If we surround ourselves with godly brothers and sisters, the chances of falling away is very few.
Pastors, reverends and many have affirm that this is indeed THE generation. The hope of the land lies with us. Will we be a god-fearing generation, or a generation of idol worshippers and servants to ourselves? We must continue with our prayers and ask the Lord for a mighty revival, not only in the church, but also in the non believers, that they too will see and feel God’s love!

The Search for Answers

Answers. All our life we seek for answers. Answers to this maths question, answers to our life, answers to many, many things. Are answers able to satisfy us. Many people work so hard to just get society status. Does this drive down to the question of the meaning of life?
As Roosevelt said before he died," The only limits to our realization of tomorrow is the doubts of today. Let us move forward in strong active faith." Can we answer tomorrow’s questions? No we cannot. Will that add to the usual stress we face everyday? For example, will I sprain my leg when I kick soccer tomorrow? Will I fall asleep tomorrow? If we keep pondering these things, there is a possibility that might faced mental breakdown or depression. Will that aid us in our spiritual walk with God? No, it would not. Why be bothered with things that can drag us down and not be focused on God. Go to God when you are in need. Ask for help and it shall be given. Let the Lord take control of your life. Let Him steer your life. How do someone let God take control of our life? It boils down to obedience. Let us always be reminded of Leviticus Chapter 11 verse 44. " BE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY!). Do not let holiness be a habit or something that is imposed or forced. Let holiness and God be a lifestyle!
